At A&B Brush, our purpose is simple: build the best pool brushes in the world for the professionals who depend on them.

We've been manufacturing brushes in the United States since 1949. Today, professional pool service companies across the country trust A&B for one reason: our brushes work better and last longer than anything else on the market.

Why We Do This

In the mid-1960s, Donn Anawalt Sr. walked into a small brush shop in Duarte, California and saw something worth building on. The company made fireplace brushes, good ones, but the work dried up every summer. So the family took a chance: start making pool brushes too, and keep the shop busy all year long.

That decision changed everything. Over the next six decades, we poured everything we had into mastering pool brush manufacturing. We developed proprietary bristle technology that no one has been able to replicate. We pioneered the quick-fit aluminum handle system that became the industry standard. We invested in precision CNC equipment and refined our staple-set process until every brush that leaves our facility meets a standard we'd stake our name on.

Three generations later, A&B is the leading pool brush manufacturer in the country. We didn't get here through advertising or undercutting on price. We got here because professionals tried our brushes, saw the difference, and never went back.

What We Believe

We believe the people who clean pools for a living deserve tools built to the same standard they hold themselves to. A brush isn't just a brush. It's something a contractor picks up hundreds of times a week, on every job, in front of every customer. It has to perform.

We believe American manufacturing matters. Every A&B brush is made in our Duarte, California facility with domestic materials. We control the process from raw materials to finished product because that's the only way to guarantee the quality our customers expect.

And we believe in focus. We don't try to make everything for everyone. We make pool brushes, and we make them better than anyone else.

After 75+ years, A&B Brush is still family-owned, still debt-free, and still doing what we've always done: building the highest-quality pool brushes in America for the professionals who count on them every day.
